Church is a Team Sport Workshop Weekend

Thank you for your interest in inviting me to be with your leadership team. Hopefully you can invite a few other church leadership teams from your area to benefit from this time as well. God has one church and this type of leadership content provides a healthy opportunity to network with your co-workers in the Kingdom.

Cost: $2,500 plus travel, lodging and food.

Three sessions, one Friday night and two on Saturday. A seminar workbook is provided (which can be printed from a document you will receive.

Participant Cost: $30-$50. (With 100 people attending, the seminar will basically pay for itself.)

Everyone attending should download (free) and read, “Together as a Team” by Keri Ladouceur.

Full time vocational staff should purchase and read “Hero Maker” by Dave Ferguson and “Church is a Team Sport” by Jim Putnam

The three one-hour sessions involve the following topics:

1.     A Transformed Life – Calling to Christ-likeness, Character, Capacity, Competence.

2.     A Transforming Vision – The dream that drives the “what and how” in every day ministry. We will explore values-based leadership alignment across every ministry.

3.     A Transforming Team – The bigger your dream the bigger the team. You will receive valuable teaching on developing a leader breeder ministry environment. This includes access to tools and resources for starting and maintaining a leadership team.

Each session includes teaching, group discussion/application and Q & A. Detailed information will be sent one month prior to the seminar date, including an administrative worksheet for making the most of the weekend.

Typical Schedule:

Fly in on Friday morning and depart on Sunday afternoon. I fly out from the Reno/Tahoe International Airport.

In addition to the seminar, I can meet with your Staff and Board and am available to preach at the weekend services on “The Person God Uses.”

Peter F. Drucker on Leadership

“Leadership has little to do with ‘leadership qualities’ and even less to do with “charisma.” It is mundane, unromantic and boring. Its essence is performance. Leadership is a means; thus leadership to what end is the crucial question.

The foundation of effective leadership is thinking through the organization’s mission, defining it and establishing it, clearly and visibly. The leader sets the goals, sets the priorities, and sets and maintains the standards. The leader’s first task is to be the trumpet that sounds a clear sound.

Effective leaders see leadership as responsibility rather than rank and privilege. When things go wrong -- and they always do – they do not blame others. An effective leader knows that he, and no one else, is ultimately responsible; he is not afraid of associates and subordinates. An effective leader knows that the ultimate task of leadership is to create human energies and human vision. The effective leader must earn trust. To trust a leader, it is not necessary to like him. Nor is it necessary to agree with him. Trust is the conviction that the leader means what he says.”
